Barn Dance

Our barn dances - sometimes referred to as 'Square Dances' or 'Hoe Down' cater for many types of functions. Popular for celebrations, birthday parties, fundraising at clubs or local groups who are after a bit of good wholesome 'craic' suitable for the whole family.

The Barn Dance is a great way to get people engaged with one another, people who wouldn't normally spend time with other people in their team or group. As such they are a great social ice breaker.  Do not worry if you have two left feet, your caller for the event, Marc -  plays the keyboards and calls the music live.

A typical barn dance set would be approx 2.5 hours long with a break in the middle for a rest and some refreshments. All that is required is a good space for dancing (Church hall, function room etc) and willing participants.

What is Barn Dancing to a live caller all about?

The set dancing generally requires groups of 6 or 8 people, don't worry if you haven't got a partner to dance with, we will soon get the whole crowd mingling together.

It's all about the craic so it doesn't matter if you are male, female, older or still in your youth, you will be guaranteed a good night.

The dances can be easily taught by our caller Marc in a few minutes and once you get the hang of it you'll be on the floor all night

You will soon pick up the basic moves to set dancing. We will have you 'dosey do'ing and swinging your partner in no time.
